Team News
- Special Teams Coach Marwan Maalouf said that Chad Beebe will hold for Kaare Vedvik when he Kicks FGs and Extra Points. I suspect Vedvik will be the kicker on Saturday night.
- Offensive Coordinator Kevin Stefanski had some high praise for RB Mike Boone and said he’s come a long way from the start of training camp. He also said he was impressed with the toughness of the Offensive line and was pleased with the QB play vs Seattle.
- Defensive Coordinator George Edwards was very pleased with Safety Jayron Kearse’s versatility and effectiveness and hinted that he could be used in a variety of roles in specific situations including in the slot as the “Big Nickel” CB, 3rd Safety and even Cover LB. Edwards also mentioned that CB Bene’ Benwikere is improving each day as he gets used to learning the new scheme. Also said there is a stiff competition for Nickel rush DT spots and that they can and will use DE’s inside on passing downs.
- NT Linval Joseph said he feels much stronger after his surgery than he felt during the 2018 season. He’s looking forward to getting back on the field. A healthy & stout Linval Joseph would be a huge positive for the Vikings defense especially against the run.
Injury Report/Updates
- T/G Aviante Collins, DE Ade Aruna & WR Jeff Badet did not practice
- WR Bisi Johnson returned to full practice today
- RT Brian O’Neill continues to do individual drills only
- RB Ameer Abdullah left practice with a right shoulder injury
- CB Mike Hughes & TE David Morgan remain on the PUP list
- DE Tashawn Bower remains on the Non Football Injury list
Practice Notes
1.) Kicker Dan Bailey went 6 for 6 on FGs today including a 50 yarder with Matt Wile & Chad Beebe each getting 3 reps as the Holder.
2.) QB Kirk Cousins and WR Stefon Diggs had a good rapport in practice including a go head TD strike in a team drill with 30 seconds left in the simulated game.
3.) Backup QB Kyle Sloter threw a pick 6 interception to LB Greer Martini. Sloter was not happy with himself after the play.
